Wonderful place and so convenient. The woman who welcomed me, Charene (sp?), was great. Beautiful houses that were nicely renovated. Most important for me: quiet, a comfortable bed, and a very hot shower. But also, so close to the great Detroit Institute of Arts and convenient to all the other cultural properties in town. Noteworthy details: Nicely restored brick Victorians (four houses) with nice hang out spaces so also very good for groups of friends and families.

We love coming to the Inn on Ferry Street. The Inn is quiet, cozy and close to so many venues. The staff is friendly, welcoming and accommodating. There are so many great places to eat and drink nearby. Food & drinks: Plenty of places nearby

This will definitely be my go to hotel in Detroit from now on. First, the mansions are beautifully restored - everything seems historically accurate but with a clean, relaxing aesthetic - nothing fussy or old fashioned. It is a perfect balance of luxury and coziness. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, it feels like your cousins welcoming you home. I found the other guests wonderful too - lots of culture, everyone was really friendly and chill. The common rooms lend themselves to private, quiet conversations if you want that, or communal banter. The location was absurd - with the DIA literally in the backyard, fabulous restaurants everywhere, and the symphony a short drive away.

About
The Inn on Ferry Street

Steps away from the state’s finest museums, acclaimed Detroit Medical Center and Way State University, find yourself immersed in Detroit history staying in one of four restored Victorian homes & two carriage houses that collectively comprise The Inn on Ferry Street. East Ferry Avenue was developed in the late 1800s into an upper-class neighborhood. Eventually the homes collectively came under ownership by the Detroit Institute of Arts in the 1970s and remained so until the renovation in February 2000 where The Inn On Ferry Street began welcoming hotel guests. Designed to accommodate a visit for a weekend, conduct a business meeting, or rent an entire house for a special occasion, The Inn On Ferry Street sets the standard for elegant guest quarters and dedicated service.
