Element Detroit at the Metropolitan

Great hotel. Easy walk to the sports arenas and stadiums in downtown Detroit. Great staff. VERY CONVENIENT and professionally run valet parking ($42/night, I think). So many bars and restaurants are an easy walk away. The complimentary breakfast is very nice. You can get made-to-order French Toast and eggs. The breakfast room felt a little undersized. And, the line for the food got a little long during busy times. But, this is a really great downtown hotel in the Marriott chain.

Excellent stay from the moment we met Antoine at the door. The Element has been so carefully restored it is an honor to walk in and feel the history. Breakfast is standard but with nice touches including Michigan-made peanut butter (Koeze) and a lovely seating area + a very kind and accommodating host. Honestly I did not expect complimentary breakfast for the high caliber of this hotel, so that was a bonus. Room was very nice and smelled great with really cool mechanical shades and good city view. Great options for snacks, did not go to Monarch Club but maybe next time. Thoroughly enjoyed and cant wait to be back. Thank you!

However, the standout of our stay was undeniably our interaction with the breakfast buffet staff, particularly a wonderful lady named Kim. Kims presence was a radiant highlight, enhancing our experience to extraordinary levels with her exceptional service and heartfelt warmth. She wasnt just performing her duties; she was crafting an experience, making every guest feel seen and valued. A defining moment that left a deep impression on us was how Kim handled a group of men who arrived after the breakfast hours had ended. Demonstrating incredible hospitality, she graciously allowed them to enjoy their breakfast regardless. This act of kindness not only showcased her dedication but also exemplified the hotels overall ethos of guest satisfaction above all. Kims efforts to go above and beyond for every guest, ensuring their start to the day was as pleasant and fulfilling as possible, were nothing short of inspiring.
