Children's Eye Care

My review is based solely on the front desk staff. And what they are calling "procedure". The doctors were all so nice and patient with my baby. There are 3 spots for parents on the intake form. Under each spot you check one(Biological, Legal, Step and so on). I checked Legal Parent and I decided to add the Bio mom also incase she needs information in the future. Everything went fine i filled out forms gave my insurance (Private not Medicare). At 2:35 we were in the room getting taken care of. At 2:47 the front desk staff took it upon themselves to call the Bio mom that i listed without even asking me my relation to the child to make her aware of him being at the doctor and tell her that she is the bio mom and she has to give permission for him to be seen. All of this was done without my knowledge. Bio mom even told them when they called "well she's on the birth certificate.." I didn't find out until over 24hrs later. When did front desk staff become legal advisors? Being the biological parent of a child doesn't mean you are able to make any decisions! And doesn't make them responsible for the child at all!! I am his legal parent all responsible is mine. I am discussed that this is what Carmen(supervisor) called normal procedure. In 5 years this has never happened and my baby has been hospitalized before. To go behind my back without even asking me first is ridiculous! I will never return.

Made a appointment a month ago for my son .. received a call today stating my child appointment has been cancel due to doctor have a emergency for June 13 how would anyone know they have a emergency two weeks away ? Not faulting the doctor Im faulting the scheduling person because it sounds to me she/he was making appointments on the day doctor knew he was going to be out also tried to push his appointment out another month after waiting a whole month .. they didnt try to see if he could get in at they other locations or even try to squeeze him in on another date other then a month away Im very disappointed

My son had a traumatic eye injury that resulted in an emergency surgery on his birthday. Dr. Gianfermi recommended and performed his surgery. I've been to the Clinton Township, West Bloomfield and Detroit locations and the staff are amazing at each location. Dr. Gianfermi is the absolute best. She's stern, informative and reassuring. She has made this process for my family so much easier to deal with. I truly appreciate her.
