Frederick Stearns House

My wife and I stayed 2 nights in the Magnolia Room during Easter weekend. We were unsatisfied because there was NO housekeeping of the Room given despite the Fact on the Door we hung the Housekeeping Card. Frederick Stearns House in their Description it states "Daily Housekeeping." It would have been Okay if they just changed the Towels. Another reason we were dissatisfied was because the Cable tv did not work in the Living Room. Cable tv worked okay in the Bedroom. One PLUS was the Chef (Snoop) who was excellent and served our Made-To-Order breakfast each morning. He was great! Suggestion for the owner Rachel. Please provide regular coffee via a Kuerig machine or similar. Their espresso does not provide regular coffee it only provides just strong and thick coffee. Note: Side door for entrance that uses a Code needs to have Door Handle fixed. For the price I would rate this Bed and Breakfast as just marginal.

Special, unique experience that Ill never forget. This hotel/bed & breakfast is in a wonderfully-restored historic mansion. There is inspiration everywhere in the finishing, artwork, and architecture. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was very nice. A special treat is the wonderful breakfast. I had a different breakfast every morning of my stay and it was exceptional. The owner and chef are very nice and accommodating. You are a short walk from the cute business district on Agnes where you can get coffee and do some local shopping. You are also near the fantastic Marrow (James Beard-nominated) and fun cocktail bar Two Birds. You can easily get to Belle Isle in a few minutes. I will stay here again and I highly recommend it.

Me and my husband stayed here to celebrate our Anniversary. We stayed in the "Rose" room. This entire place is magnificent !!!. Our room was so cozy. The breakfast and coffee was amazing. One night wasn't enough for us we wanted to stay longer but had to return home for work . We will be coming back here

This is a beautiful property that has been expertly restored to add modern conveniences while retaining the old charm. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was great. The location was convenient to downtown while still being far enough away from the noise. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We will absolutely return whenever visiting the area.
