Rustic. Mariners Cathedral is a must visit for anyone interested in Detroit history. Popularized in the Gordon Lightfoot song The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald this small house of worship is more than a one hit wonder. An Anglican Church that opens its doors to all faiths and has lovely acoustics for its choir and organ. The current rector was kind and welcoming and even provided a good sermon. I think my favorite thing about this place was the comfort and prayer it has provided over its 100 plus years of service to all people but especially the sailors of the Great Lakes.
