I fully and heartily recommend the McDonnell Agency. For well more than a decade, the Agency, and in particular Julie, Kathy and Michelle in the front office, have been miracle workers in keeping me insured as efficiently and inexpensively as possible, with auto policies, rental policies and homeowners policies, through thick and thin, in bad times and good.

I was in the market for homeowners insurance not to many months ago as I was buying a new home and contacted McDonnell Agency for a quote. I was given a quote by KATHY CIESLAK and was told I needed to sign an application for them to pull my information (as did every other insurance company I was shopping at the time). This application which I have attached below stated right on the last page where you sign, in the 'disclaimers' "This is a quotation only, does not bind any coverage's and is subject to underwriting". All said and done I ended up going with another insurance carrier in which I had to sign a similar application, however had to sign the policy to actually execute it (in which the premium was paid in closing cost). Come July I received a bill from McDonnell Agency stating I owed hundreds of dollars for this Homeowners policy I had decided not to go with. I called KATHY CIESLAK right away but got no answer, so I in turn emailed KATHY CIESLAK right after, with no reply. I honestly forgotten about it with the move and working on the home all while working my full time job. Well low and behold in September I get a demand letter from McDonnell Agency threatening to send me to collections if I do not pay $160.xx, so I immediately contacted KATHY CIESLAK, who was a very rude elderly sounding lady. She started yelling at me that I signed the application which meant I wanted the policy and I should read what I sign before I sign it. KATHY CIESLAK and Tom McDonnell are both very rude people and seem to sign prospective clients up for insurance they do not want to make a quick buck and scare them into paying a cancellation fee with the threat of collections. Well that did not happen with me, because I kept all correspondence between KATHY CIESLAK and myself, and I pointed out the disclaimers on the application. KATHY CIESLAK has threatened to sue me for slander if I wrote any reviews on any forum giving my opinion of her unprofessional demeanor, and lack of knowledge when it comes to contractual agreements. For someone working in an insurance setting that a pretty scary thought. My recommendation would be to stick to the big name companies themselves and stay away from these little guys thinking you may catch a deal. In the end its just not worth it, and if you not as well versed in contracts as I am, may be scared into lining their pockets because they signed you up for a policy you did not want in the end. KATHY CIESLAK this is for you!!
