Speedy Tech Computer Repair

Another customer whose mistake becomes our bad review because they can’t take responsibility for their own actions. Sooo, this guy comes into our shop and asked us to wipe his hard drive because he couldn’t get windows to install properly. He did NOT WANT TO PAY US TO DO THE INSTALL SO HE COULD SAVE MONEY. No problem. We told him the cost and he agreed. We did a full Zero wipe of the hard drive as requested. We then took his hard drive out of his computer, put it into our machine that does this and zeroed his drive. We installed it back in and sent him on his way to do what he wanted. He then comes back in complaining that it still wont work. Being we go out of our way to help our customers (as seen in all our 5 star reviews), as a curtesy we said we would take a look and see if one of our installers would work. It did not work so we went even further in helping him, and proceeded to take the laptop apart again to see if we could see anything else that might be wrong. So here we spent probably about 30 minutes of our time and money to help the guy. Well, turns out the sticks of ram looked to be pulled off the motherboard in a way that we could see broke leads on the motherboard. He then tells us, YES THAT WAS DONE BY ANOTHER COMPUTER SHOP, AND THEY ARE NO LONGER IN BUSINESS and he can’t go after them for that. I explained to him, that his motherboard is damaged and would need to be replaced or buy a new computer. He then puts blame on us and says “well what did I spend the $80 for if it does not work” and was wanting a refund. I explained to him that you asked us to do a job, we did what you asked, so no we are not going to refund you the money. I have employees to pay, overhead costs and we even went out of our way to find the problem which we weren’t paid to do, and he still wanted a refund. He left saying I know what ill do, and here is his review to try to harm our business. I do not stand for that and I will always respond to these poor reviews with the whole story. If we were to make a mistake, we would solve it and admit we made a mistake. I WILL NOT stand for lies and take responsibility for someone else’s mistake. -Mike
