Travelodge by Wyndham Canton/Livonia Area, MI

!!! HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEDED !!! I recently had the misfortune of booking a stay at Travelodge by Wyndham Canton/Livonia Area, MI through Agoda, expecting a comfortable and clean environment as advertised. Unfortunately, the reality was starkly different, prompting me to share my experience to inform and caution potential future guests. Upon my late evening arrival, the visible disparity between the online images and the actual condition of the property was shocking. The building's lack of maintenance was immediately apparent, from the absence of an elevator to the dirty staircases, setting a disappointing tone for the stay. In search of assistance, I encountered a lack of professionalism and courtesy from the night shift employee. Despite explaining my situation, his responses were disrespectful and unhelpful, insisting unrealistically that I could not expect better accommodation for the price paid ($95 for 2 nights). This interaction not only exacerbated the distress of the situation but also highlighted a significant lapse in customer service. This experience has led me to conclude that the property's listing on Agoda was misleading, using outdated images that do not reflect the current, dire state of the property. Such deceptive practices are unfair to consumers and undermine trust. In light of the above, I felt compelled to vacate the property shortly after my arrival and find alternative accommodation, a decision driven by the unacceptable conditions and poor customer service encountered. I have since reached out to Agoda to request a full refund, not only for the misleading booking but also for the distress and inconvenience caused. Till date (2 weeks) NO refund has been processed despite the bad condition of the room. To potential guests considering this property, I urge you to look elsewhere. The discrepancy between advertisement and reality, coupled with the dismissive attitude towards guest concerns, paints a clear picture of what one might expect from a stay here. It's a stark reminder that customer service and accurate representation are critical in hospitality, both severely lacking in this instance. Rooms: The room presented an even more disturbing scene; a pervasive foul odor greeted me, and the linens, particularly the pillows stained and seemingly unwashed, raised serious concerns about hygiene. Essential amenities were either broken or malfunctioning, including non-working lamps, a defunct fire alarm, and a heating system that failed to provide warmth, only adding to the discomfort with its musty air. The bathroom's state was no better, evidencing a clear disregard for cleanliness. Noteworthy details: The staff are unprofessional.

Rooms: Had to switch ours. I think there was something living within the walls/floors. Light above sink didn't work, was dirty. 2nd room was better. Walkability: Plenty Stores/restaurants within walking distance Food & drinks: Wendy's n shell gas station conveniently next door bc the hotel offers nothing

This place is disgusting the 2 indian owners arent smart and wont accommodate you for the rooms being disgusting roaches all in the room and they just enter your room without saying anything they will force u out if you complain about the rooms
