The memory care facility is horrible. The staff is inattentive, ignorant of dementia and Alzheimer behavior, uncaring and not present. The residents sit in urine/feces for a long time and develop rashes. I constantly have to request changing for my Mom or that she receives care for rashes. The residents aren't given water unless they are eating, I guess it is to prevent urination that needs changing. I've had to pick up residents that have fallen because there is not a worker present. The workers talk as if the residents can't hear or don't exist. Absolutely disgusted. The cost is expensive for the absolute minimum care. I'm looking for other places to place my Mom.

The worst place to work the New Executive Director dont know good help has a very nasty attitude and dont know how to talk to people..They will keep staff thats lazy .. The ones has there back they let go..Would have been a beautiful place to work if they kept Denell.

We feel a family member has to be present every day to make sure our mother receives the care she needs. Chronic staffing shortages have resulted in her rarely receiving the level of care she is paying for. Denell Bruyere, executive director, has tried VERY hard to make needed improvements but constantly hits the corporate brick wall. One simple thing she tried to do was to get a handicap accessible door to the courtyard but was told no. It is a law suit waiting to happen because of the way physically impaired residents have to wrestle with the door to access the courtyard. Staff turnover is very high and staff call offs are frequent. There have been many times our mother has had her call button on for an hour and a half with no response from staff. I shudder to think what would happen if she was experiencing an emergency. There are many friendly, competent staff members who have provided excellent care to our mother. Unfortunately, there are not enough of them.

Bickford of Canton is a must see if you live and work within the Canton community. On N. Canton Center Rd., right off of Ford Rd, sits the impressive new build assisted living and memory care. What the beautiful aesthetics don't tell you is how much the leadership team and staff care about their residents. In a world of uncertainty due to COVID, Bickford has done a tremendous job of educating, testing, and protecting both it's staff and residents. As a fellow community organization, they are a reliable and trustworthy partner. If you or a family member are in need of care, I would highly recommend scheduling a time to hear their "Caregivers Manifesto" as well as meet their leadership team. From, Michelle (Community/marketing), Matt (Executive Director), Heather (RN coordinator), to their entire staff you will not be disappointment. 5 STAR!
