I contacted Matt, Broadleaf Studios to see if he could make a Wharton Esherick stool for me. He responded right away saying he knew who Esherick was, loved his work and would be up for the challenge. He promised the stool would be within 1/4 inch of an original stool. The process that Matt went through to get to the finished product was huge. He sent photos all along way to show me his progress. His work is sheer perfection. I could not be happier with the end results. If you need or want a beautiful custom made piece of furniture Matt is your man. For the amount of time and effort that he put into this project, what he charged was very reasonable. I would highly recommend Matt for any woodworking needs you have.

Matt did a wonderful job on a complicated rework of a mahogany bifold sliding pass through window and some inset wine shelves being put into a 90 year old brick window opening. There was lots of scribing, hand-wringing, and challenging measurements and cuts to get it to work with the extremely out of plumb/square opening and window we had. Matt handled the whole thing with grace and attention to detail, and was always a pleasure to work with. His cuts, miters, joinery, and finishing is especially next level, a true master of his craft. I needed a very specific thing that couldnt really be bought- a triangular wedge of precise dimensions to accommodate my record collection on some new shelves Id just installed that werent tall enough to hold them upright. Matt understood precisely what I needed, and recognized that it was a small job that he could fit in really promptly between larger projects. They were done in one weekend, and theyre better than I hoped for. Heavy, beautiful, a fantastic color and stylistic match in the room, and for a little less than I expected to have to pay for custom work like this.
