I was t-boned yesterday evening and the tow company that the officer sent would not deliver to my address regardless of pay. That company recommended general towing and within the 20 minutes they stated it would take to get to me they had arrived and I was on my way home. Friendly and professional which is a bonus after being shaken up from an unexpected accident. Relatively cheap as well. Service: Car towing

My wife was in an accident. They towed her car from the scene. When we went to their location to collect her belongings from the car, the refused to let her have a copy of the invoice they made her sign for our records. Not providing a customer with a copy of an invoice is a shady business practice. Ask yourself: when was the last time a business issued an invoice to you and refused to let you have a copy. Probably never. I know that was my answer until just recently. She then received an unsolicited call from a public adjuster who indicated General Towing has some kind of business relationship with him, and provided her contact information to him. While its theoretically possible he was lying, the crash report was not available for public access by the time the call was placed, and we had not notified anyone of the accident other than close family and the insurance company, there is no other explanation for how the public adjuster got her information and knew where her vehicle was. Giving out contact information for persons recently involved in motor vehicle accidents so they may be directly solicited only days after they were in said accident is a shady, and in some instances illegal, practice. Then, while the insurance company was in the process of handling the claim, General Towing had the police declare the vehicle abandoned, without so much as a courtesy call to ask when the insurance company would be collecting the vehicle, or to indicate the permission for the vehicle to be at their tow yard was being revoked and requesting she have the vehicle removed. A vehicle located on private property, such as a tow yard, can only be declared abandoned if the owner of the property indicates the vehicle is not permitted to be on the property. MCL 257.252a(2)(a). As General Towing were the ones to move the vehicle onto their property in the first place, they presumably consented to its presence to begin with. Revoking consent without notice to the customer that they are doing so, and calling the police instead of the customer, is an incredibly shady practice. As I said, really shady business practices.
