I called wanting a rough ballpark figure for what a typical treatment for iron chlorosis in a 20 inch diameter southern pin oak would cost. I said I understand youre not making an estimate on my specific tree; Im just looking for a general sense. They refused to answer this question. Instead they wanted to charge $95 to have someone visit first. That policy makes it impossible for a homeowner to get multiple quotes from tree services, since if they all do the same it would cost $95 each quote. Their model seems to be that they are the only game in town so they dont need to be competitive, either in answering general questions over the phone or, if they refuse to do that, giving an estimate before charging.

Our experience with Guardian Tree Experts was great. Garrett came out to assess our trees and gave me recommendations for trimming, feeding and removal. He was not pushy and was patient with my many questions. Mike and his team removed 4 trees and trimmed 7 others. They were very professional and the work and clean up was excellent. They even managed to hang my bird feeder so I could continue to feed my birds, once the trees were trimmed, as the closest branch was too far from my ladders reach!! After having used another local tree service in the Ann Arbor area, I called Guardian for their opinion and pricing. Garret visited us and took his time explaining issues with our pear trees, one of which we decided to have cut down, as well as the pruning required on our Red Maple, Service Berry, Magnolia, and Willow Bushes. The crew that came to do the work was excellent. Garret had ensured they were well-briefed on the work, and they efficiently, and quickly removed the 30+ foot Pear that was in our courtyard. They carefully cleaned up all the areas that they worked in and completed all work within a day. We won't hesitate to contact them for future work and would highly recommend them.
