    We had a tour, the apartment looked nothing like the pictures and the person who gave us a tour was uninformed about the furniture that came with the apartment (she didn't know which furniture was included) and didn't really give us a tour. We were unable to measure anything even though we explicitly called and asked to be able to measure, which they agreed to. We are now being told that they have a "strict" policy that a tour can only be conducted once per group. However, this the lease and website provides absolutely NO information about such a rule. I have emailed multiple times and they are not describing or stating where this rule is. All we want to do is measure the space.

    Seriously, do not rent from Varsity Management. They do not respect any of the recent ordinances passed over the last few years (most notably, the Right to Renew Ordinance), which gives tenants more protection and more time to decide on renewal. They find loopholes in ordinances and they push tenants into renewing very early on in the lease. They most recently implemented a "reservation system," which is a perfect example of one of these loopholes. I imagine they'll continue to find ways to cheat tenants in future years.

    Update: 801 W Madison St Moved my one star up to two stars. They resolve some issues but the apt is still unfinished and has been since we moved it. I also have a problem with maintenance coming into our apt unannounced. I alerted one of the staff members about this and they said they would alert us whenever there needs to be work done. Once again, maintenance came in with no warning and went into my roommates room to fix something that we didnt know was broken. This makes us uncomfortable because we couldve been sleeping or worse. It should be a rule that if they need to fix something and IF staff is tied up, leave a note on the door or have them personally text us. August 2022: Moved in and our apt and wasnt cleaned at all. Clothes found in the dresser and cat hair everywhere(Im allergic). This is a requirement to clean between tenants, I wont be staying at any of their locations in the future. (Partially resolved)
