Friendly owner. Wide selection of all types of books. Some gems inside

Great place to find old books. Packed to the rafters (literally) and tight spacing but a treasure trove. I got the feeling that the owner knew every book that was ever published, whether any are available, and where.

My wife and I really enjoyed walking around this place. It's fun to wade through all the semi organized stacks. The problem with this place is that it is horribly over priced. I found a first edition book on the Russian Revolution that was 60 dollars and decided to buy it. Why not? It's a first edition from the 1950s. It turns out this "rare" book could be had in similar condition from Amazon for 8 dollars and multiple other places had it for similar prices in the exact same format. My advice is to go to this store, lose yourself in the piles of books and once you've found something you like, search the internet for it. You are bound to find the same thing for an 8th of the price. This store does represent Ann Arbor, as another reviewer stated. It is mildly interesting and far too full of it self to change reasonable prices for the things it sells. I cannot support local businesses who appear to hold such attitudes.
