Did two Harris Teeter shops. Failed receipt for one shop. Understandable. One HT shop pending payout mysteriously disappears 3 days before payout. After spending money out of pocket for both shops. Do not recommend.

They send open shop notices pretty regularly, but after 6 months there have been only 3 worthwhile. One I completed, one they cancelled on me last minute, which really sucked because I'd already planned my day around getting it done, one had to be requested by email Vs the dashboard & despite my immediate response they replied that it'd already been filled. Most are no longer available between the time I get the email and log-into my dashboard, so you better be fast. It seems degrading, like a type of hunger games. When you accept an assignment they let you select a day, but at that point it's set. It is not flexible enough that you can complete it spur of the moment if say you happen to be passing by. The reason so few have been worthwhile to me is because they barely pay enough to cover the cost of gas to get to & from, never mind my time. The same stores have locations close to me, but assignment locations are 30-40 miles away. Also several have required taking a kid/teen on the shop (game stores) If it requires two people, it should pay a lot more, but they still pay only $9. or so. Reimbursement is toward end of the following month, meaning it could be up to 8 weeks, so be prepared to float money for the co., effectively an interest free loan for them. Although easy to complete, I felt the report was pretty useless. It was overly specific to a few products & areas of the store. Which coincidently were the only items & areas that were well stocked & clean - as if the store knew what would be checked. Answering honestly about only those specifics I had no choice but to rate it well, whereas in reality overall the store was a mess with a lot of empty shelf space and did not deserve a good rating. I don't know how they select items & areas, but I hope clients know they are not getting a comprehensive assessment. MAYBE it'll be an ok side gig in some cities. It doesn't cost anything to sign up & check it out, just be very careful about accepting an assignment since some can actually cost you money. ETA: I see a previous owner response claiming reimbursements of "$75.-$100. or more" None of the assignments I've seen have come close. There's a very typical (oft repeated) option on my list now that pays $10. w/ $2. reimbursement and it's 55 miles one way. The most I've seen was one time each a $50. & a $35. reimbursement for restaurants and it specified only a couple of entrees you could chose from.

They've started offering no pay, reimbursement only shops. We are expected to not only do the work for free, but have to pay for products they direct us toward out of pocket and wait a month for reimbursement. Absolutely NOT. *response to reply* I was one of those shoppers. There would be value in it if we got to pick the product, but you direct us to what category to choose. And are they not paying for this service? Enough for proper compensation for the people doing the work? I'm not waiting for y'all to do to me what Uber did; find ways to screw me out of pay while you pocket it all more and more often until I'm basically paying to work for you. Good luck in your future cons.
