Found my therapist for PTSD through here. She is great and hs improved my life a lot. However she switched to a different company when I first was seeing her. I was not surprised by her decision after I got a letter from Charis counseling a while later saying that an employee had sent out collection letters that were not approved. I did not get one but I paid every copay for Charis, and continued with my therapist at the other company. Months later, a letter with confidential information was sent to the person who abused me, saying that I did not pay my copayments. I do not talk to this person and their abuse is the reason I sought out therapy. I called Charis and they confirmed that they would not send a letter to her again. A few more weeks go by and they sent my abuser another letter saying they applied a credit of $20 to my bill and that I still owed $20. They sent the abuser a receipt that showed that they did not apply a credit. I called the office and they called back and told me that they applied the credit but never received my payment and would need me to email them proof. I contacted my therapist and she confirmed that I paid her and that she would deal with it. Charis counseling then told me that they had written my name in my chart as my abusers name. Extremely unprofessional, HIPAA violating, and frustrating.
