We can neither confirm nor deny when an individual is seen in the office. However we can say that our office is built on referrals from other clients, doctors offices, the courts, schools, cps, CAC etc. We can say that 98% of clients are sent by these referrals and our office is very successful. We also take clients that don't have insurance, or give occasional sliding fees to help accommodate the burden of costs or because they have been turned away by other facilities. We at Northern Waters Counseling Group want everyone to know we do our best to build a therapeutic relationship and we understand that this is not always possible with every person.

We can neither confirm nor deny if anyone is a client. However, I think there may be some confusion.We at Northern Waters Counseling Group have never asked a client to sign a power of attorney. That would be specific to an Attorney, not a Mental Health Professional. However we do request 2 HIPAA compliant forms.A release for primary care physician and an emergency contact.Both of which a client can refuse. 1. PCP release is something insurance providers request, but by law we are not required to provide any information to the PCP. We even tell our clients they can write across it saying no permission allowed. This PCP release is for some clients who request medication assistance for...say ADHD and/or referrals for sleep study.2. The Emergency Release was put in place in case a client has an emergency while at our office, such as if they fell. The emergency releade is also used for minors and/or if a minor would be picked from a session and allowed to release that minor to someone other than guardian/parent. The Emergency release is also used for clients who may be on a safety plan. The Emergency lease is ANY ONE the client chooses, and that person is at least 18 y/o. The Emergency contact may not ask questions about care unless the client has authorized and stated on the release. The Emergency person is NEVER contacted unless there is an actual emergency. The Emergency release was put in place because a client once had an emergency at the office and with no prior arrangements could not call anyone. An ambulance was instead called.We at Northern Waters Counseling Group take HIPAA SERIOUSLY and our clients privacy seriously. It would be greatly appreciated that if individuals have concerns or are unsure they ask questions for clarifications rather than make this type of review. However if a loved one did NOT put a person down as their emergency contact, or authorize communication contact any GENERAL questions can only be answered, such as this information. It would also be appreciated that if an individual has never been seen at Northern Waters Counseling Group nor verified this information that they did not leave negative reviews they know nothing about. So to reiterate We DO NOT have clients sign a Power of Attorney. I hope this clarifies the subject of the matter.
