Highland Cemetery is a great place to take a short walk through. It's filled with headstones, grave markers and a few large monuments that all date back as far as the 1600's! If you're a local certain family names will stand out to you. It's filled with veteran soldiers from every major war and battle from the 17th, 18th & 19th centuries. As you can imagine it's difficult to read most of the older headstones since they are slate & extremely weathered. I did find a few family monuments made out of Zinc or "White Bronze" as it was called starting around the 1870's. No rust or any kind of erosion at all. They're amazing to see in person. It's located across the street from South Shore Hospital on Main Street (Route 18) in South Weymouth. So the next time you find yourself at this particular hospital, depending on your circumstances of course, & you want to get some fresh air or just need to get out of there go across the street & take a trip back in time.

This cemetery dates back to 1751, and has incredibly picturesque areas for photography. Its a popular spot for walking, jogging, and is very popular with dog walkers. Located across from the South Shore Hospital, u will find graves of the founding families of this town. The foliage is especially beautiful in October.
