Please NEVER move to Colonial Village Apartments in Ware, MA! The property manager Barbara Dulude is one of the most incompetent, unprofessional, useless and untrusting people I have ever met in my life, and unfortunately runs the place. -She issues complaints to people based on false accusations. -She doesn't seem to understand that apartment living comes with a bit of noise and will issue you a noise complaint based on even the smallest of noise. -She WILL issue you a noise complaint in the middle of the day regardless of what time it is WITHOUT speaking to you first about the complaint coming from the other side and letting you voice your own opinions of your side of the situation. -She can NEVER be reached in her office by phone, and is only in the office 3 days a week. Even when she is there she is NEVER in her physical office. -She doesn't listen to reason, and only seems to trust those who have been living at the complex for years who feed her lies and false claims and are the ones making all of the false and inaccurate complaints. -If you send her any kind of serious email she either wont respond to you or will try and reason with you telling you that the other tenants have rights as well. -The maintenance man Bob, who not surprisingly is her boyfriend, spread rumors about my boyfriend to other tenants telling them to "watch out" for him, resulting in death threats being made towards my boyfriend, myself and our dog from our downstairs neighbor who got the 'watch out' information from Bob. -Had to call Mary at Winton Corp (management company) to get Barbara's attention since she wouldn’t respond to my email about the death threats. -Barbara didn’t update us at all after we demanded immediate eviction of the downstairs neighbor after the death threats; of what she was planning on doing about him. -As far as my boyfriend and I are concerned, there are no plans on eviction to this tenant. -Tenants are garbage -NOT dog friendly -Clogged tub drain most of the time -Dirty water -Leaking sink. -ETC…! I have saved emails, AND the voice recording on hand for proof that this place doesn't care about you. Have moved out of Colonial Village Apartments but am still recovering from the trauma that this death threat had on me.

I have been living here now for three years, in this time I have come to meet some very good people at the village , we talk to each other daily, people always wave as they drive by coming and going , it seems people all get along talking and spending time together here and I have made some of my best friends right here. Also the management is great anything Barbara the manager can do she will gladly go out of her way to help anyone , truly a very good person and very professional, the same for Bob who heads the maintenance for the buildings he is very knowledgeable and always willing to help with problems . The apartments are nice due to the owners care they do care and every apartment has new or new like appliances and carpets , the owners have put a good amount of time and money into the upkeep of the property with new roofs , fences and yard work in the last three years that I have been here . It’s not surprising that some tenants have been here for twenty some years and I plan to stay for a long time myself ! it’s a very nice village in a very nice town.

The one and only worst experience I've had renting from an apartment complex. Moving in, the place was really nicely redone, and I loved the setup of the apartment. Despite the six pounds of hair clogging the drains and tub, and the mud erupting from the toilet. The place is gross... someone died in their apartment, began to rot and they had someone move in literally within the week... Maintenance was awful, it was one man that came by when he seemed fit. I had requested he fixed my outlet that held my cords loosely and his solution was to bend the prongs on my router, and thus causing it to stop working even after we bent them back. The walls were paper thin, and you can hear neighbors whispering, watching tv, and having company, but doing any of this yourselves will have your neighbors call the cops on you for noise. The vast majority of my neighbors were alcoholics that the staff did nothing about. They'd just stand around out front smoking weed and drinking a handle of alcohol. That, plus the hundreds of skunks and feral cats (fed by everyone and their mother) and their feces make this to be an AMAZING place! I loved coming home from work and having a stalker from building K waiting for me outside, or causing trouble with my guests. I also loved how people would sit in there incredibly loud, rumbling vehicles right outside your window from 10pm to 4am. I paid $650 for a 1 bedroom apartment in a cesspool of an area, paid my rent on time every month and was forced to leave for having a room mate move in, who they didn't "want trouble" with, after he was forced into a fight with a raging drunk (handle of alcohol in hand) that lived next door, in front of our own apartment. It was a blessing in disguise, I have since rented my own 4 bedroom house, been able to have company over, a dog, and relax, for LESS than what I was paying at Colonial Village. I love where I live now. (: Thanks Colonial!
