Gary is an utmost perfectionist, and will adhere to the local laws and only work with supplies he can personally vouch for and trusts. Like the other reviewer commented, if you wanna go out and get ahold of your own equipment or not bring everything up to current code, Gary might not be for you since he cannot guarantee the quality of those items are up to his standards, and wont put his name on something he can't stand behind. There are cheaper and legit reasons to go other routes, so no problem there. Gary's position might not be to your liking, but don't hold it against him for trying to insure quality he has to stand behind.

Gary from start to finish was very professional and informative. Every time I have used his services he has been been great with his knowledge and craftsmanship. Def would highly recommend him if your looking for a professional job done. Came to my house to price a simple job and tried to up-sell me on a complete replacement of my main panel due to some "known safety hazard" that he later could not substantiate when pressed for details. 3 other licensed electricians who would be pulling permits for the work said no way was a panel replacement necessary. They never even asked to come in the house. Then Garry started telling me how certain materials were in short supply due to Covid. When I suggested I could get those things for him, he said he could not work with any materials he did not buy himself because then he couldn't guarantee the work. I would not write a review here normally but I think if I were someone naive, this guy would have ran up a huge bill on me. Fortunately, I got 4 estimates on the job and it was easy to tell that Gary (or Garry) was the odd man out.
