I hired Attorney Samantha Gentel of Generations Law Group in May 2022 to help facilitate my elderly parents transition to a dementia care facility, as well as their application to Medicaid/Mass Health. Attorney Gentel was recommended to me by at least four people in the metro Boston elder care network, including the owner of the home health care agency I hired to help me look after my parent while they were still living at home. Samantha succeeded in getting my parent approved for Medicaid/Mass Health three-and-a-half months after their admission to the dementia care facility, which is quite a feat, as I understand the process can sometimes take up to nine months. Initially, my parents application to Medicaid/Mass Health was denied, but Samantha filed an appeal and won our case. Apparently, the ruling was a big deal and set a precedent in the legal world. Samantha also made a positive impression on the business manager at my parents dementia care facility, who shared that they found Samantha to be excellent to work with, and that they were awestruck that Samanthas calculation of what my parents Medicaid/Mass Health patient-paid amount would be matched the first invoice from the Commonwealth down to the cent. The business manager explained that, in their experience, an attorney will make a ballpark estimate and the applicant will only learn the exact amount upon receipt of their first invoice. Its worth mentioning that I was not at my best during the five months I worked with Samantha, because I was overwhelmed with simultaneously caring for my parent 24/7 in our home while performing my deadline-driven 9 to 5 job, and then, after moving them to dementia care, I was beset with grief. My ability to focus, concentrate, and comprehend was impaired, and yet Samantha guided me through what seemed like never-ending paperwork with aplomb. With her encouragement, I was able to gather, complete, and submit all the required records, forms, and supporting documents that she needed to win our case. I am enormously thankful to Attorney Gentel for her diligent work; I have already hired her to facilitate my parents reapplication to Medicaid/Mass Health next year; and I highly recommend her.

I was referred to generations law group for review and explaining of Trusts as well as help in filing a Medicaid/MassHealth application. Samantha Gentel went above and beyond to help me with the above services. I couldnt be more pleased with the outcomes. Her expertise with Medicaid/MassHealth applications is a plus, this process is daunting but Samantha is a gem to work with. She is well organized and efficient. Her guidance and advice were very supportive in decision making. When I became overwhelmed at times, she was my rock. Generations law are experienced professionals who work well as a team.
