I properly prepared the existing soil before adding this topsoil. I seeded it with top quality grass seed and lightly raked the seed in. I then used a roller to pack the soil and seed for growth. And also added a light layer of straw for protection from birds eating the seeds. Followed by watering every day for a week plus. With no sign of any growth.
I think I would have had better results laying down faux green outdoor carpeting and throwing grass seed on it and then watering it in hopes of the seed growing.
However, there was a positive note to my loss. I removed this topsoil along with several inches of the base topsoil. And gave it away to a friend who put it in their chicken coop pen. For his garden next year.
