MassHire Springfield Career Center

This place served as a pretty good resource to get my bearings after I was laid off. Parking can be tough depending on when you visit. The staff was friendly and mostly helpful. I'm sure it's not their fault, but I was not able to receive much assistance from the veterans representative because I didn't meet a threshold of active-duty days of service. This definitely impacts recently unemployed members of the National Guard because the majority of these servicemembers simply don't meet that threshold and therefore lose the priority service offered by the MassHire team.

I unfortunately wasn't given much help on job searching. I was assigned to Neysha and I only had one appointment. Brief interaction and the rest of the appointment was spent watching a video. I was disappointed leaving the appointment. There was no follow up on how my job hunting was going. After 3 months I finally found a great job on my own using indeed only.

I never knew this resource existed and I was reticent before following through on what was requested of me from UI.
