Family and I have been freedom boat club members for 3 years. We love it and I highly recommend it to people often. For a family like ours with small children, this is the best way to experience boating. You make a reservation online, you walk out on the dock, boat is always clean and ready to go. The dock staff is helpful and friendly, especially at the Scituate location. It's a great group of guys that are always up to help you or give you advice on where to go for a trip. When you get back you just drop the boat and go. One thing I love is this club extends all across the state from the north shore to province town. You can reserve boats on the same app. Other clubs that are part of the freedom network you just need to call. Questions people always ask me: Is it expensive? not compared to owning your own boat. Its less expensive than the cost of a slip! And you have no maintenance costs, or boat ramps, or winterizing or cleaning. Is it hard to get reservations? It can be, if you want to reserve peak times. Saturday and Sundays in the summer last minute, yes. But if you can plan your life two weeks ahead of time you will do fine. Any time during week or evenings there is almost always a boat available. Grabbing a pizza and some drinks and heading out on a boat for a evening cruise is one of our favorite last minute activities. Who isn't this for? sailors, people that want to do overnight's on boats and people that want larger boats. All the boats are in the 18-26ft range.
