In my opinion, Sports Medicine North is a top-rated facility. The staff is exceptional. Dr. Karbassi is a very compassionate individual. He never makes me feel like he is in a rush or uncomfortable in discussing my condition. He thoroughly answers all my questions and actually seems to like when I ask questions. I would highly recommend Dr. Karbassi for anyone needing foot/ankle surgery.

This visit there was almost no waiting time. That was appreciated. All the staff I dealt with were very nice and professional. Dr. Karbassi has always been kind and helpful he really cares about people. He always gives you his attention and is a good listener.

Ive seen a few of the different docs at SMN over the years. I remember when I first came having longish lines and a crowded waiting room. I was seeing Dr. Wood, who is no longer there.This has very much improved. If there is a line it moves along quickly & the time in the waiting area to see the doctor is shorter. Checking out is also quicker. Seeing the doctors has always been helpful. Ive had a bunion corrected & had the screw removed from my foot the following year, a sore knee from a fall cared for, a broken wrist from another fall operated on & repaired (& a few revisits for that wrist due to reinjury), a total reverse left shoulder replacement (& will likely need the right one done as well), and am currently recovering from having a tendon repair & 3 toes straightened. I may just need a new skeleton & or cartilage related to loose joints so when that becomes available, let me know. Until then, I think well just have to work at things one joint at a time! Its not that I want more surgery I simply have the genetics. Thank you for having skilled surgeons available on the North Shore. Dr. Karbassi has been sensitive and helpful since my first appointment with him. During this most recent surgery, hes answered every question Ive had & as I am a retired nurse I so appreciate his professionalism & curtesy.
