Full disclosure: I have a HORRIBLE fear of the dentist. Its not a joke when I say that I would rather have a colonoscopy than go to the dentist. As a woman nearing 40, I still tremble and cry walking into the room where I know metal for a cleaning or a drill for a filling is about to make contact to my teeth. I suspect the extreme phobia comes from a lengthy stent of lousy dentists that didnt listen when I told them that I had extreme sensitivity during cleanings and that I needed novicane.. or that I could feel when they were drilling and I needed more novicane. Luckily, my experience today was absolutely nothing like any of the former. Sure, I mightve initially trembled and cried but between Laurens (Lauras?) incredible empathy and bedside manner and Dr. Naomis expert abilities in making me feel absolutely nothing during the procedures, what I anticipated being a terrifying and painful experience quickly turned entirely positive.
Now I am not exactly counting down the days until my next appointment. But Im certainly not dreading it. I highly recommend these guys and its not just because they do the job right. Its because they care enough about you to treat you compassionately when you are in a vulnerable state.
