Caminito Steakhouse

Let me start by saying food and drinks were impeccable. Sam, Jada, and Ben waited on us and chatted with us while we ate. The food was top notch, the drinks were innovative and fairly priced. The staff alone would have been reason enough to come back. Look at the pictures of the food. This restaurant will definitely be added to the rotation that me and my wife go to. If you've never tried it, do yourself a favor and go. it's a bit of a smaller dining room so I'd recommend reservations.

Ben was our waiter he was great!!! Havent had this GREAT of a meal in a long time and my wife and I go out at least 3x a week

I went here with a friend really wanting to like it. I have heard some good things and the reviews seem decent so we gave it a try. It was honestly one of the most shockingly worse meals of our lives. We started with a couple of cocktails and two appetizers. The cocktails were very mediocre. The spicy margarita was very unbalanced, too sour and not sweet enough, it was also incredibly spicy, which for me is usually fine but the drink just didnt taste good. We also had the hibiscus cocktail which was also lacking in balanced flavors and presentation. The appetizers were the most shocking part of our meal. We ordered the gnocchi and the fried artichokes. Both were absolutely horrendous. The artichokes were virtually inedible. Canned artichoke hearts put in a deep fryer and then put in a bowl with hardly any seasoning or sauces. The leaves were so tough and could not even be chewed and swallowed. I kinda expected tender artichoke hearts to be battered and fried and maybe served with some dipping sauces. These were flavorless and completely inedible. The gnocchi were also hugely disappointing. Prepackaged gnocchi you find at a super market boiled and topped with what tasted to be jarred Ragu sauce, sweet and unappetizing. Also the bread we were given, we were told was just frozen and the sauce served with the bread was also sweet and unappetizing. After the hugely disappointing appetizers and drinks we figured it was best not to take a risk on one of the $50 steaks, which I know this restaurant is known for. Maybe the steaks are good, but if the apps were as horrifyingly disgusting as they were I did not want to chance it on ordering anything else from the menu. Its really too bad because the ambiance and location are great, and the service was pretty good too. Seems like they could use a new chef and probably a new bar manager, to overhaul the menus and introduce some homemade appetizers and creative well executed cocktails. I have been blown away by the quality of food and cocktails at Homestead in Northampton and feel like this is the level of quality Caminito should strive for.
