Mainstay has continually improves the services they provide at the homes. They have improved staff responsibilities, staff, nutrition, client safety and the overall home environment. Our daughter loves living living in her home. If it was not for the Mainstay model/opportunity our daughter would be living at home and never able to expand her independance, relationships and community involvement. Her like would be stuck in neutral or even going backwards. Mainstay has been a blessing fot her.

My son lives in Cedar House in Malden. They have an innovative model which allows him to live independently with staff support in a way that is affordable for both him and us. He's happy living there and I know he's taken care of.

THANK YOU, MAINSTAY!! - the housing program means everything to us. I dont want to come home this weekend is a statement we usually hear from our adult daughter. These words say it all - she loves living at her Mainstay house. Her beautiful room, the kind and helpful staff, the camaraderie with her housemates fill her life. She enjoys her Independence! Our daughter can walk to Planet Fitness, the famous Dollar Tree store, Walgreens, or simply meander outside in the safe neighborhood. When there is company available, she also likes walking to the library in Norwood Center. Our daughter very much enjoys the regular Game night and Bingo night activities along with occasional special parties. The house and beautiful grounds are impeccably kept. The organized daily schedule is very important for our daughter - a big plus. She and the current residents have lived in the house for quite some time now and know each other well. Each knows the others strengths and weaknesses, and we have often appreciated support for our daughter from other housemates. Are there any clouds in the sky? Sometimes yes, but dont these occasionally pop up in our own homes, too? At the end, these kids stick together and trust their staff to calm the waves. Just like at home! When a staff member leaves the program for one reason or another, there is quite some sadness in the house. Life without Mainstays housing program is, for multiple reasons, unthinkable for us at this time in our lives. Our daughter would surely regress should she not have this source of support.

The Mainstay model has been an amazing game changer for our daughter. As a twenty-three year old, Abigail wanted independence, and was gradually learning what she needed in order to be independent. Having a community that includes supportive staff is the key to Abigail's success. She loves the dinners that are prepared, and eating with her roommates. Without Mainstay, Abigail would be living with us. But more important, she would not be living with the same level of confidence and independence. Having a caring, supportive environment like Mainstay means Abby can learn and grow. The Mainstay family is wonderful. They are supportive, and also interact in ways to ensure that residents are living healthy, meaningful lives. Having a beautiful home to live in, with roommates that work together, is a great recipe for success.
