Matt replaced an old defective water mains gate valve with a ball valve and added a drain valve and hose bib. He was on time, polite, efficient, accommodating and his work was clean. It's 6pm on a Saturday, I got two kids needing a bath. My wife turns on the water and it's cold. I go down to the basement, water is on the floor next to the hot water heater. I start making phone calls by 8pm Matt gave us a quote and a time frame to come install it tomorrow, on Sunday. Matt showed up at 1pm the early side of the time frame he gave us. He answered questions my 2 year old had, he answered questions I had. He left his work area clean afterwards, he was responsive and friendly. By 6pm the next night both kids had gotten their bath and were spotless. Just for kicks another contractor got back to me 4 days after Matt had already replaced our hot water heater and came up with roughly the same quote. I'd hire Matt again in a heart beat because he was so responsive. Service: Water heater repair

Our water heater failed. I called several highly-recommended plumbers in the Newton area. To their credit, they came quickly, but there were a few challenging things about the way my old heater was vented, and their quotes were absolutely insane. Matt Evans was the only one who quoted me on simply swapping out the old passively-vented gas heater for another one without unnecessary mods or crazy up-charging. Initially I was hesitant to ask him to come down from Lynn, but when I was on the 4th day without hot water, I texted Matt, and he replied "I'm ten minutes away from a Home Depot. I can stop in, pick up the heater, have them call you and get your credit card number, be there in an hour, and do it all today." And that's exactly what happened. I often say that Im an old-school guy in that doing what I say is important to me, and I have a lot of respect for that in others. Matts a young man, but he did exactly what he said hed do. Nice to know that it's not just an old guy thing. Huge kudos and thanks to Matt Evans. Strongly recommend. Service: Water heater installation
