Was very curt and compassion-less on the phone. I began to cry after speaking with him. His firm was "too busy" to help me and said that his firm needed "clients that respected time issues" (whatever that means). Had an obvious inability to clearly state that he deals with liquor and lottery issues, which I would have clearly understood at the get-go. He referred me to the bar association and gave me the telephone number but then stated that they would probably refer his firm to me. My situation was not in their "wheel-house" he said.
The Demakis' Law Firm website states that they provide "big-city quality with small business values. We pride ourselves on combining high level legal services with the accessibility and attention of a locally owned small business." and it also states: "A small business doesn't mean smaller legal obligations. Whether you are IBM or IBM Convenience Store, Inc., the basic legal issues you face are the same, and you need a law firm that knows business law to tell you what you are getting into and make sure you get what you pay for."
The only statement that holds true in my small, yet hurtful experience with Atty. Joseph H. Devlin is that the "big-city" attitude is going strong for him as I was surely treated insignificantly. Well, it may be true that I'm nobody special but in this review I'm telling you as a consumer that if you're looking for compassion and understanding, look elsewhere.
