Church of Our Redeemer

I joined the Redeemer community in 1981 when I married my wife Cathy. We have enjoyed the past 43 years in this caring and supportive parish. We raised our children here and enjoy an open and friendly atmosphere at all church functions. A recent serious illness illustrated the power of the connections we have made, with many church members checking in and visiting me as I recovered. The Church of Our Redeemer is an extension of our family and our values.

Were a family of 4, with two girls ages 4 and 2. We started at Redeemer a little over 2 years ago and we love it. The community is wonderful and includes other kids their age. They sit together at Mass and read books/color together. Weve had at least half a dozen older parishioners specifically tell us that they are so happy to have young families attending services, which makes us feel so welcome. After church there are great pastries and coffee with many folks staying to socialize together. My wife and I are former Catholics and we are pleased that there are engaging religious ed programs for the kiddos. We also love that the Mass is very similar to the Catholic Mass, as is the theology - but priests can marry, women can be priests, and LGBTQ+ people are welcome and can get married in the church. Best church of my life, living in several places around the US. Redeemer models Christianity very well, as I understand the faith. I experience Redeemer as a loving, thoughtful community in which people listen to each other with respect and curiosity, embrace difference and understand their faith as something with hands and feet and skin on it. But also very much heart and very much mind and very much love of neighbor as self.
