Andreas P. Schoeck, M.D.

Dr. Schoeck is a competent, knowledgeable neurologist. As a nurse, I've worked with many physicians and I can tell Dr. Schoeck has an excellent bedside manner. He is personable and takes his time to listen to patient's concerns. Overall, I am very satisfied with the care I've received from Dr. Schoeck.

I am under 40 and relatively healthy but had a cryptogenic stroke. Dr. Schoek seemed competent but the whole experience was rushed and everyone seemed disinterested bordering on rude. I was asked the day of the appointment to come in 2 hours early. I rearranged my schedule last minute to try to accommodate this and still ended up waiting 30 mins. Then I was rushed through the meeting with Dr. Schoek. He assessed me for about 15 mins, with the standard "follow my finger, squeeze my hand". I didn't learn anything new from the meeting with the specialist that wasn't told to me in hospital. I called back when my medication was running out to see if it was wise to change my prescriptions as I had not seen a cardiologist or hematologist yet and I had just had a cryptogenic stroke. Twice I called. The doctor did not speak to me either time but had the staff tell me not to worry about it. I got a second opinion and remained on my medication while I met with the other specialists. In contrast -my cardiologist sat with me almost an hour asking questions about my lifestyle, and scheduling tests.
