The Franklin County CDC is a critical resource for Western Massachusetts! I took an entrepreneurial training class with them 20 years ago for an idea I was investigating and it taught me so much about how to approach starting a business and ways to evaluate whether the idea was even viable. Turns out it wasn't, but glad to have learned that before it was too late! Since then, I have intersected with the CDC as part of my work in community economic development at the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce among other roles. We routinely refer businesses to them for technical assistance and for financing options and we partner with them on regional initiatives. Their Western Mass Food Processing Center has been a game changer for growing food businesses as they help them bring products to market. This is especially vital in our largely agricultural region. So much more I can say about this amazing organization. I highly recommend getting in touch with them if you are a budding or established business. Or a community organization looking for resources and advice.
