MetroWest has some of the most asinine doctors I have ever experienced in my life. A friend of mine, who shall remain nameless due to privacy reasons, is severely mentally ill and is disabled. She was instructed by her boss and HR to go in for an appointment to get a form signed to protect her at her job, should her mental health prohibit her from going to work. Anyone with a mental illness knows how tiring and draining it is to be mentally ill, and how many physical side effects it has. However, the doctor she visited with clearly is unaware of that fact, as he refused to sign her form, claiming her disability "was not physical"
If this man went to medical school for even a year, I am sure he would be aware of the physical side effects that come along with having a severe mental illness. And it greatly impacts her ability to work, which is going to take a toll on her job - especially now that he refused to sign a form that would protect her (which, under the ADA, she deserves to be protected and accommodated for - but I am assuming this man did not go to med school and has never even heard of the ADA). Refusing to acknowledged her illness as a disability is causing her a great deal of harm, and as someone whose job it is to help people, he is the one causing her the most about of pain and distress. I have never been more infuriated and disgusted by a human being before and if it were up to me, my friend would NEVER attend this facility again.
