I am a college graduate and a father of a 22-month-old son. I was married for about two years, but unfortunately due to unreconcilable differences, I had to endure an ugly separation along with a long and strenuous divorce. Furthermore, while all this drama was unfolding, I was borrowing thousands of dollars in order to pay a lawyer to advocate everything in court when I didnt necessarily need one because I could have simply defended myself pro se. Never even thinking of what a divorce entailed, I had no idea what I was getting into or what the court system was like. After being in and out of court for a couple of years, it was finally coming to an end where a divorce agreement was created. However, my ex knew that I was paying an attorney with help from family, so she decided to once again stall the process by disagreeing to the most minute of details in the agreement, which was taxes.
I was angry and frustrated. I was not only accused of the most erroneous accusations in court, but my ex also did her best to prevent me from spending quality time with my child. I couldnt afford to keep asking family for more money knowing that Id have to pay them back and deal with my school loans. In addition, I saw how much time went by traveling to either communicate with my attorney at the time or go to court, moreover, I noticed how much money was spent through this whole process of divorcing. I decided to explore other options. I knew that I could at least save a few bucks by getting legal advice closer to where I lived and if need be, I could even walk to their office.
I think it was faith that guided me to the Law Office of Joseph Machado. He literally was the relief, I needed at that time in my life. Coming from having legal advice that made you believe that their presence in court was cost effective and impactful; Mr. Joseph Machado cleared up this confusion by educating me on how my ex never appeared in court with a lawyer herself because she never had to. She obviously was receiving legal consultation from somewhere, but saving money in the process; adding, that I couldve done the same if I knew better. What Attorney Machado did was remarkable. He not only took his time by appropriately counseling me on what my best legal options were, he surpassed his duties as a lawyer. Talking to Attorney Machado was a pleasure and like having a two-in-one meeting. I was given the legal information needed for court appearances, and I also received the sort of consultation that made me level-headed enough to communicate with my ex-wife in a cordial manner, understanding that my sons best interest was always the goal.
I highly recommend Attorney Machado as he is one of the best lawyers Ive come across in my life. His fees were beyond fair as well. He knew I was a full-time college student that needed this divorce issue resolved and didnt have that much money, but he worked with me. I had to borrow a few hundred dollars more, but it was well worth it as the divorce became final in December. Due to backed up schoolwork that had to be done; this might seem like a lengthy endorsement that took me some time to write. However, I feel like with all the time and effort Attorney Joseph Machado invested in me and this case, which again went beyond legal advice, it was the least I could do.
