My visit for my recent crown work was quick, painless, and professional. I couldnt be more pleased with the work of Dr. Reiff, Angie, and everyone in their office. I highly recommend Mountain View Dental to anyone looking for exceptional dental care for themselves or their family.

I recently moved to the area and came here for a routine cleaning and exam as a youngish person with excellent dental health who has cleanings every six months. I wish I could leave a better review but this is what I experienced. I will say that the administrative part of the office seemed to be run well. It is normal here to get a cleaning without any suction or water spray. At intervals during the scaling and polishing process they rather awkwardly bring you up in the chair, have you fill up a plastic cup to rinse your mouth out yourself, and then bring you back down again. The hygienist was nice and did take care doing the scaling with hand tools, but was rather rough sometimes which gave me some gum irritation and inflammation afterwards. I did not have any calculus or plaque build up that would have caused this and I do not normally have any pain or inflammation from scaling/cleaning (or daily brushing/flossing). Normally hygienists spray water/suction so they can see the working area better, and they usually use an overhead light. So, perhaps this was a visibility issue. Unfortunately, she finished the cleaning by using the polisher to drive the polishing grit under/into my gum line. And since they don't spray water or do suction to clean out your mouth after the polishing, the grit was left lodged in my previously happy and healthy gums. I did rinse my mouth out with water while I was there, as prompted, (three times!) but there is only so much you can do against the power of a dental hand tool that has lodged sandy particles underneath your gumline. I have never experienced this before in 30+ years of dental cleanings and while I left with discomfort after the scaling, I didn't realize the particles were still under my gum line until they started to get more inflamed later in the day. I can actually feel the grit still there with my fingernail. At this point I'm just hoping it hasn't caused or won't cause any permanent gum recession or damage, and I'm wondering whether I have to go somewhere else to have it remedied. I take a lot of care and pride in my dental health and the appearance of my teeth and had carefully considered the reviews for this practice before scheduling, so it has been a great disappointment to feel worse off than when I walked into their office.
