We greatly enjoyed our 3-night stay at this family-run inn. Christina and Steve were very welcoming owners, and interesting to talk to. It was a convivial and friendly atmosphere in the inn, with some guests striking up conversations with other guests over breakfast, but there was also plenty of space and privacy so no sense of this being intrusive. It's just outside Orleans town, but only a very short drive from the restaurants etc of Orleans, and I assume all visitors are coming with cars and are prepared to drive a very short way (less than 10 mins) to dinner. Given the tranquility of the location, the nice gardens (and great star-gazing), it certainly felt like a good trade off to us versus being in a downtown area. We were in the Rose room, which was one of their standard rooms (as in, not a deluxe/upgraded room) and even though that was the lowest tier price-wise, we found it really charming, and not too small at all. It was in the main building, which we really liked (although the other rooms/cabins dotted over the grounds were no doubt just as pleasant, and might have had their own advantages from extra space or privacy, so to each their own!). Decoration throughout the inn was quaint and whale-themed. We had absolutely no problems with hearing any neighboring rooms, and found it very peaceful; walls must be very thick. The only thing I would note was that the minifridge in our room (a really nice amenity) did hum more noticeably at night, and since alas I'm very sensitive to noise when trying to sleep, I did end up using my earplugs for this! This wasn't a flaw, but just something I'll mention for other guests who might want to make similar provisions! We appreciated Christina's recs for dinner (we LOVED Land Ho), and the breakfasts were, as everyone has commented, a delight. Housekeeping was noticeably good (very thorough, very quick--much better than I've experienced in many hotels). One of the nicest things was that I had alerted them in advance that it was my fiance's birthday, and they left a little box of local artisan chocolates in the room with a birthday note on arrival. This made him so happy, which made me so happy! It was a very nice touch which really felt in keeping with the warm atmosphere of this family establishment. We would very warmly recommend them to anyone looking for a base for their upcoming trip!

We selected the Whalewalk Inn to stay due to their location to the Cape Cod bike trails. We have electric bikes which we enjoy riding on the rails to trails (old railroad tracks turned into bike trails). We were so impressed with how well kept & large the Inn was. Very spread out along their beautiful landscaped yard. We loved the privacy & comfortable secluded porch which was connected to our Carriage House room. The breakfast was superb. Switching from one morning serving a Sweet breakfast the next day a Savor breakfast. The sweet breakfast consisted of blueberry pancakes, excellent tasting zucchini bread & an amazing selection of fresh fruit; then the next day a Savor breakfast consisting of a delicious avocado toast with eggs, amazing chocolate banana mini bunts & a citrus fruit stack. The owners provide excellent customer service. We were very impressed with the Whalewalk Inn & look forward to returning next summer. Rooms: Very clean & comfy beds Nearby activities: Cape cod bike trails has hundreds of miles of fun riding.
