Edited after being a patient for a few visits: Cleanings from the Dental Hygienists were not thorough. Dentist was over an hour late, rude, and recommended multiple dental procedures that were not recommended by multiple other dentists I saw for additional opinions. After her recommendation she did not stay to answer my questions because she was late to other meetings. Extremely difficult to retrieve medical records, only receiving incomplete records after multiple requests. As easy as it was to switch to this office, I am no longer happy that I did. The front desk staff are friendly and made the switch easy, but not as friendly and helpful when asked for medical records.

I switch over to this Dentist since my regular dentist retired. Nothing but issues with this Dentist. The dentist has been late during my appointments and had to alter my work schedule in order to reschedule for the same day or another day. The latest issue I have now is I am responsible for a full bill because of the dentist billing department is incompetent. I spoke with my insurance company and theyve explained everything to me that my dentist biller failed on multiple things. The billing department for my Dentist failed to explain and provide proper billing codes and words explaining to my insurance what was performed. After 3 failed attempts by my dentist billing department the claim was permanently denied. Im now looking for a new Dentist for my family of 6. Moving on. Please read other post on here since theyve experienced same issues as me. Ive already paid my out of pocket expense that wasnt covered by my insurance and co pay to this dentist firm. Now, I have to pay the entire bill which is quite of bit.

I just recently moved to this area and was in need of finding a new dentist. This was the closest one to me so I decided to give it a try. I was scheduled for a cleaning and after my appointment I was supposed to receive an exam from the doctor, but the front desk made an excuse of why she wasnt there. This left me having to come back another day for a 10 minute appointment, which caused me to need an entire day off of work because of the time they could fit me in. During this exam Dr. Ishaq informed me that I had over 10 cavities that needed to be filled. This was news to me because no other dentist I have gone to has ever said anything of the sort. A few weeks later I decided to go to another dentist for a second opinion (with the same x-rays they had taken at Charlton Family Dental) and they had a discussion with me that I had zero cavities. I am convinced she was just trying to get money from me.

I feel so lucky to live close to a good dentist office like Charlton Family Dental. It's such a high tech office, I really appreciated that from day 1. Late 2021 was when I came for my first adult newbie visit. All of the hygienists are really smart and fun people, nice to talk with about self care. I really like Maheen Ishaq, best general dentist I've ever had. She recently put in my white composite fillings, 3 at one time! Couldn't have been easy, seemed like hard work. She's a perfectionist. 2 months later and I think they look and feel great. I recently had some tartar unfortunately build up, and her and the team assessed it to need a periodontal root scaling. I got Novocain from them because they were concerned with hurting me, which was very caring. I was very self conscious of how it had inflamed my gum, turning it red and puffy and they took care of the whole thing. I would've had them take care of it even if I didn't have my insurance. I trust them to make me better. I heard during talks of the teams approach to my root scaling, that they would elevate it to Dr. Dempsey if it got worse/continued. That was really nice of them to have a whole plan in mind about me and my specific care. I still haven't yet to need Dr. Dempsey but I'm sure he's great like rest of them. I'm all healed up now. My absolute favorite 2 things about Charlton Family dental is: no disgusting out-dated rinse cups/water taps for spitting. My old dentist in my old hometown was still using that out of date set up. I love their high tech tubing and water sprayer, very refreshing! And that they have payment plans for folks who are self-pay. For now I use Altus, but I may need to use their payment plan options down the road if that ever changes. I think the front desk is doing their diligence. They have me pay upfront for parts that Altus didn't cover, and participate to submit claims for me. Keep this up please, it makes me feel like a valued client like you don't want me to have to run around in my free time scooping myself together to do my own work on claims. Thanks team for helping me with the integrity of my teeth, I love coming to this office.
