Its good to get a broad idea of your shot of getting into colleges. However since its not a real person it doesnt factor in things such as extracurricular details (ex what youve done in your club), college essays, which classes youve taken, etc its accuracy is skewed. It also doesnt help that some of their deadlines for colleges are our dated TLDR: good for very broad estimates. Dolby factors in number of clubs and class levels

I had a great experience with my college advisor Denise Haile! She offered my a lot of great advice for not only my college essays, but my actual application, with her help I got into several great colleges and universities. Collegevine offers a great number of resources to help all students.

College vine simply offers LESS information - In the previous version a prospective student was able to identify and compare YOUR chances vs. overall chances, rank against major, overall rank and estimated costs. The comparisons are critical to making a decision against debt, major, perceived prestige, environment. I'd offer that college vine has LOST a major component and the overall value of it's offering is gone. While this may sound dramatic, Collegevine becomes yet another subpar tool used to drive up application revenue for colleges and admissions stats without the return of the analysis for the constituency it purports to serve. other sites do a better job.
