Brewster Chamber of Commerce, Inc.

My family and I have been summering in Brewster for years and are continually dismayed by the rudeness of the staff at the Brewster Chamber of Commerce. Aside from the gentleman who worked there a couple of years ago, the disposition of staff is one of annoyance rather than helpful and welcoming, as a Chamber of Commerce should be. This year, the process of buying a beach parking sticker was even more rigorous and unpleasant than usual. I presented my registration as instructed and was told that it wasn't sufficient because it was a leased vehicle. I pointed out that my name was on the registration and was told that I could have written my name in myself. I was then asked to show my lease contract which I do not keep in my car, but in a safe place at home. Finally, I presented my inspection report which had the VIN that matched the VIN on my registration. This, I was told, would be adequate proof that my registration was valid and they would accept my $60 for the privilege of parking at Brewster beaches. Is the Brewster Chamber of Commerce in the business of welcoming visitors or keeping us out? This department should be staffed by residents who take pride in Brewster, are eager to share their love of their town with visitors, and appreciate the money that visitors contribute to the local economy.

Knowledgeable, friendly, well informed & helpful people. Lots of local and Cape Cod things to do, points of interest and restaurant information. They even sell Brewster White Caps apparel & accessories.
