Stay away - Terrible/irresponsible/careless mortgage team serving greater Boston area
We used Washington Trust as mortgage company for our home purchase. It was fine at the beginning. Appraisal report was submitted 10 days before closing date. As we move closer to the closing date, with frequent reminder of the closing date, they kept saying no problem, we are on track.
Less than 48hr before closing, my broker told us appraisal review need some clarification - we ask for details, what does this mean and how can we help. They kept telling us "we don't know" and kick around the problem for 24hr. Millions of emails and phone calls were sent to broker and her manager - manager selectively picked 2 phons calls, Again, the answer is "we don't know".
As you can imagine, we missed our closing date because of this "GREAT TEAM" .
Again, when we asked about how many days do you want us to request extension, the answer is we don;t know.
I understand things do happen along the mortgage application process. How irresponsible and careless this team under urgent circumstances have shocked and disappointed everybody.
