A true find. Bobby grew up in the area and was a wealth of firsthand information on the background of the North End! Taking a tour with a legitimate local was an excellent experience. Our tour featured epic traditional pizza, an amazing pasta dish, a stop for arranchini balls, a hidden-away bakery that served a filo dough sfogliatella--a tour through an amazing local italian deli where we got to try some imported balsamic and olive oil with cheeses & meats, and an incredible cannoli to finish off. Bobby was waving and greeting people from the neighborhood as we walked. A true local gem that cares about the history and the tradition of the North End. Book a tour with him. Come hungry.

This was an exceptional food tour! Bobby was so knowledgeable about this area of Boston because he grew up here! We learned so much about the history, people, and of course the food! From fantastic pizza, wine, bakeries, delis and coffee, to the architecture and culture of this vibrant corner of the city- we had so much fun and were completely full with food to take home, and great restaurant suggestions for later. I highly recommend making this tour part of your visit to Boston.

If you are looking for a fun way to learn about and eat your way through the North End, this is a tour you can not miss. It is the perfect way to spend a Boston afternoon. You learn about the history of the North End from Bobby, who has lived there his entire life, get to eat a lot of great foods, and get to see things you would never see on your own. Bobby has a personality that is contagious. This isn't just any average tour. He keeps the energy levels high, even when you may think about slipping into a food coma, and is truly passionate about what he does and the neighborhood. Everyone in the area knows him. With Bobby, you learn far more than you would on a typical tour led by a tour company. I can't say enough how this is the food tour to take in the North End and even if you didn't plan on a tour, you should do it. Book your tour in advance online and then come ready to eat. Our tour started out at the Tony DeMarco statue, we then went to Antico Forno for pizza, pasta, and wine. Then we went to Monica's Pasta Shop for some Arancini, next Salumeria Italiana for tastings of delicious olive oil, balsamic vinegar (it's truly amazing, we had to buy some for ourselves), cheese & deli meat, and of course the giant sub, next up Bricco Panetteria for Sfogliatelle (we never would have found this place on our own), next Polcari's Coffee, and then we ended the tour at Mike's Pastry with their famous cannolis and a special added treat of a Pistachio cookie. While the tour is food-focused, it's not just about eating. You also get to learn about the North End and hear real-life stories from Bobby about all of the locations and other areas that you pass. Everywhere we went, people who weren't on our tour kept listening to Bobby and wanting to join us. Too bad for them that they didn't sign up for the tour. This is a can not miss thing to do in Boston. The tour is about 3 hours and seemed to fly by. This will be your favorite thing you do in Boston, just like it was ours.
