Everyone who works here acts like an ornery old man, and two of the three of them are. But it is a useful fox burrow of an LBS for the granola people of JP and the rest of us who occasionally need a tuneup.

I recently had a terrible experience at this bike shop where I was charged an exorbitant $120 for a simple chain replacement and "so called service". To make matters worse, my total bill ended up close to $180. This shop's pricing is nothing short of daylight robbery. I strongly advise fellow cyclists to look elsewhere for their bike service needs. You'll save both your money and your sanity. An absolute shame.

Had my breaks start failing rather quickly, since I commute to work I didnt have time to go to my usual bike shop further away. It is definitely more money for a simple job than any other bike shop Ive been to, my chain was also toward the end of its life so I asked them to replace that as well, I paid when I dropped the bike off. When I picked it up they said I still owed about $15, no one told me that would happen, when I asked more questions (because no information was being offered) they said they had run out of the regular chains and put on an anti rust chain instead which was more expensive. Just felt like they were trying to take advantage of me, I would have more than happily just gotten a chain and replaced it myself since that was not the urgent issue, the breaks were. Needless to say its fine for urgent small things (but expect to spend way too much money) but I will be doing everything in my power to not go here.

Brought a bike in about a month ago that I had recently purchased as I knew it needed brake work. Long story short the person who attended to me said it appeared the bike had been in an accident and needed a new front fork as the existing was bent and the metal stretched . His evidence was that the curve in the fork was much higher than it should be. In the back of my mind I kinda knew metal doesnt stretch (unless exposed to heat) but he was insistent and continued to go on about how unsafe the bike was in its condition. I reluctantly agreed. When I picked up bike I asked to see the old fork and overlayed it on the newly installed fork. Violaexact same curve profile. They did true the front tire and did ok on break repair but in the end I was charged approximately $150 for work that was apparently not needed (cost of fork and its installation). I followed up with an email expressing my concerns but received no response. This shop should be sure they have qualified front desk help.
