Jayla is a TALENT. I searched long and hard for a Boston hair artist to do my first ever sew in after months of contemplation and research. I found Jayla via Google search and her Instagram. Her work is the real deal. Not only if shes super kind and fun to be around, but she is meticulous in her craft, and will not deliver anything short of perfection for her clients. My mom and sister both recently moved to Atlanta where the hair game goes crazy their jaws dropped when they saw my hair because it was that stunning. They may even start flying up here to see Jayla. I felt like a mermaid/celebrity. Ive had the sew-in since end of December, and it truly still looks just as good as the day I got it. Her braiding craft is key. Im amazed. Even though this was my first ever sew-in, I couldnt even imagine going to a different hairdresser ever again haha! Jayla youre the best.

My experience with Jayla was highly unprofessional when it came to timing and hospitality. She called me to reschedule because her client was running late and I accepted. She advised me to buy my braiding hair from a specific store and begged me to replace her braiding gel which she would refund my money when she sees me and, I accepted. Due to a thunderstorm/flash flood warning, I couldnt make it to the new appointment so I called to reschedule for the next day. The next day I came 8 mins late but she left me waiting outside for 15 mins. I had booked for extra small braids for $450 which I expected to take about 8-10 hrs. There was a misunderstanding with the color of the hair which was handled poorly. She agreed to do a hairstyle that would take 8-10 hrs when she knows she had an appointment at 2pm. The misunderstanding could not be resolved so I requested a cancellation. I urged Jayla to refund my deposit since I had used Uber to her place and bought the hair for no reason but she insisted that there would be no refund. I agreed and asked her to pay for the gel that she told me to buy for her. She refused to pay because my energy was bad she claimed she didnt want the gel anymore but wouldnt pay me back the $10 I spent. After some back and forth on who was most distressed in the situation. The icing on the cake was when she rudely told me youre raising your blood pressure for no reason which I felt was gaslighting because i had every reason to be disappointed and communicate that with her even though she didnt understand me. I told her Im 22 so I can handle being distressed which her friend who was watching the whole time said no way shes 22, shes lying and shes crazy Jayla and her friends comment on my age felt disparaging. My entire experience with her service seemed toxic especially for the price I intended to pay. If youre looking for a braider, I suggest going elsewhere because you never know what kind of hospitality youll receive with Jayla.

Jayla is hands down the best braider Ive ever had. Ive typically gone elsewhere but I needed my hair braided last minute and I found her via Google search - I am soooo happy I met her! To start, I accidentally got the wrong hair but she was an angel about this and ended up having some in stock that I could use. She is extremely funny so the time went by quickly (she can do quiet appointments for the introverts out there!). Jayla braids, quick, neat and gentle. I got knotless waist length braids and I was out in about 6 hours. The braids were clean, same size all the way down and still look great 5 weeks later. I am returning to get my hair braided again next month :-). I highly recommend using Jayla as your braided! Service: Braids
