I booked an appointment the morning of, and proceeded to the appointment. You should know that his "location" is on the 8th floor of an office building in a shared office environment. I was a little lost and called to confirm if I was in the right place and he asked, "Who is this?" rather gruffly. He said he had someone in the chair and that I should just sit in the reception area and just wait. I asked how long and he said about 10-15 minutes. I started to get a little bit worried. I checked some of the online comments about him upcharging once you arrive and that worried me. I paid $125 for a cut and shave and really thought that was enough regardless of how much hair you have. About 20 minutes of waiting after our scheduled appointment, William asked us to come in (the cut was for my 18 year old son). We did so. There was hair on the floor, and the place looked pretty messy and dirty. I tried to be chatty and upbeat with William having read some of the other reviews. William proceeded to do a great job. He has an attention to detail and thoroughness that impressed me. He really was passionate about giving my son a great haircut. He used a brand new razor on my sons face and really took his time. Some of the equipment didn't work but we worked around that. He did not charge me any additional money (beyond what I paid online) and I did give him a nice tip. Overall, I think that if William cleaned up the shop and had a little better bedside manner, this would have been outstanding. It was very good, but the small things mattered. Overall, I recommend him. *** After posting this review he called me to complain about the review which I thought was balanced and actually positive. He told me he doesn't want to see me again and won't service me ever again. I can understand that he might be upset with some of the things that I wrote, but I didnt mean to get him upset. As a professional, he does good work.

Ive never left any appointment feeling as uncomfortable as I felt after receiving a haircut from Walter. I was recommended Walter from a colleague at my office, and was looking forward to a professional, good-looking, albeit expensive, haircut. Everything started fine, I was on time and Walt was chatty as we went to his office from the waiting area. Walt sat me down, next to two bowls of what looked like the remnants of his lunch and dinner that were sitting on his couch and windowsill. He got me into the chair, put on the bib and asked me what I wanted to do, to which I responded that I wanted to knock a good amount off. At that point walter asked how long it had been since i got cut, I answered honestly that it had been a few months - my hair was long, but only just going past my ears. By no means did I have excessively long hair. At that point Walter told me that my haircut would be $100+tip instead of the $65 + tip i had prepaid online because the $65 is only for when you come in every 4 weeks. Stunned, I laughed, thinking he was making a joke, but he was dead serious and did not move forward with the cut until I agreed. Uncomfortably, I agreed, in part bc it is my anniversary today and I needed a cut, but also bc I assumed I had misread a pricing somewhere online. We went ahead with the cut, he didnt ask me any preferences after I said I wanted to go shorter. He just started cutting, and I really had no idea what cut he was giving me. We didnt speak again until he realized how uncomfortable I was, it seemed like he thought i was uncomfortable because he changed my part without consulting me. He started talking about hos he knows how to cut cowlicks and boasted about how everyone loves his haircuts. It was extremely uncomfortable. After I left, and after he tacked on an extra $35 to my online payment, I checked walters pricings and webpage and realized that he bait and switched me, there was no such additional haircut for a first time cut or longer hair cut. At the end of the day Im a young guy who doesnt make a ton of money, but I still make a point to get and to really appreciate a good quality haircut where I leave feeling good and confident. The cut itself was solid, $65 before tip? probably not - Ive been to a number of places in South Boston that do a great job and run in the $50 range, pre tip. But mostly I just feel taken advantage of and I left feeling anything but confident in myself. Service: Haircut
