Nicholas Schraut

I had an appointment yesterday for debilitating bilateral hip pain for the past 6 or 7 months. Upon the urging of our daughter who works in the office, I saw Dr. Schraut. I have nothing but praise for everyone in the office from the front desk manned by great staff, Jenna and Bernie, to the X-ray tech across the hall to Dr. Schraut and Jillian Cresta who gave me painless bilateral hip injections and then Megan the trainer to teach me PT. I left the office feeling 90%pain free to sleeping thru the night with pain, to getting up this morning 100% pain free. I got my life back and its all because of you all! Dr. Schraut is amazing! He was the only one who could see what needed to be done in order to restore my ability to walk. I was in terrible shape when I came to see him, having been to several orthopedic surgeons (and a pile of Chiropractors) who all prescribed physical therapy for the pain in my legs, mostly because I am overweight and considered young for hip replacement surgery. After 2-3 years of continuous physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and a consistent walking program, I was on gabapentin for the pain and still losing the ability to walk, becoming unable to lift my legs or use them independently in any way, holding on to the walls and furniture to get out of chairs. To walk, I used two canes. I consulted with Dr. Schraut who took one look at my x-rays and told me that I was struggling because I needed new hips. He was absolutely right. We replaced my hips over the course of six months. Dr. Schraut was an absolute pleasure to work with. His staff are amazing. I trust all of them completely and I am over the moon happy with my results! Four months out from surgery, I get in and out of chairs without reaching for support, I go up and down stairs like I did before, I am getting slowly back to yoga, swimming, dancing. Everything. My legs are strong again, something that would never have happened if I kept doing physical therapy without addressing the underlying issue. I absolutely cannot thank Dr. Schraut enough for seeing the situation with clarity and exercising his considerable skills to restore me to a fully functioning human! Need hips? Dr. Schraut is absolutely the right doctor to see.
