My mother just spent about 6 months at Belmont Manor before her passing. I found that the entire staff was responsive. It was a very difficult transition for my mother and handled appropriately. I have seen other nursing homes and found the Belmont Manor extremely clean and safe with their Covid protocols, and a staff that truly cares about our elders.

Facing the realization that our mothers health needs were too extensive, and nursing home care was required, brought many concerns and fears. Fortunately, selecting Belmont Manor put those apprehensions to rest. For several years, until her recent passing, Belmont Manor became her home. As a Karger family run facility, Belmont Manor became Moms extended family and ours, as well. What stood out was the caring staff who supported her as her health declined and how they cared for her with such dignity and respect. Visiting with her downstairs in one of the many comfortable seating areas felt like being in ones own living room and outdoor visits on their patio brought offerings of heat lamps, warm blankets, and bottled water! When visits became more frequent upstairs, and in her room, we were always greeted with a smile and update at the nurse station. Many of our visits ran into mealtime and to see the carefully prepared meals, hot table servings, and accompanying entertainment, crafts, and socialization offered in the community dining room reassured us that Moms every need was met. Regularly scheduled meetings with the care team kept us up-to-date, and as her dietary and care needs became more pronounced, they smoothly transitioned to the next stage. Belmont Manors integration with hospice in her final months enabled additional support not only for Mom, but for our family, as well. We are so grateful for the outstanding care, comfort, attention, and respect that Belmont Manor offered Mom throughout her years-long stay. A huge thanks to Stewart Karger and his amazing staff for providing Mom such a wonderful home and her family with the reassurance that she was so well cared for and loved. The Miller/Stone Family

I never thought I would gain in-depth knowledge on the subject of senior living etc. in the Boston area. But sometimes we don't get to choose. My mom was a resident of Belmont Manor for a year and some. Of the three places my mom lived, Belmont Manor was the best, no question. The Administrator, Stewart, was astoundingly helpful, sympathetic, kind, transparent, personable, and just generally great. It was clear that he cared about every aspect of the operation. Everyone else I encountered there, including nurses, CNAs, activity people, food people, all seemed like they wanted to be there, and all seemed like they genuinely cared about what was happening. Compared to Belmont, other facilities were a mixed bag. Some administrators and staff seemed to genuinely care, but sometimes, bureaucracy and ingrained procedures won out over humanity and common sense. I'm not here to bash anyone, but if you've been to a place like this, you'll immediately know what I mean. I can't think of anything that I would have realistically wanted to be different about Belmont. I hope I never have occasion to use their services again, but if I do need to, I won't bother shopping around.

They must pay to have negative reviews removed. The place is all smoking mirrors. Clean and fancy during the day. Go in sometime in the evening when admin, etc are gone and they have minimum staffing. Pts are ignored , on the floor falling out of their chairs, dirty, etc. Worse experience going through them for my fathers care. How they didnt get shut down during Covid is beyond me. They were over their head and the results prove it by the loss of life there. No plans in place for infectious control. Nurses wearing no protective gear while handling patients during vivid.(saw it first hand). Was able to face time once with my father during Covid and he was disheveled looking , unshaven to the point he had a full grown ratty beard which he never had his whole life, not in his clothes. But you kept getting a monthly bill for full services when they werent taking care of him. We were never notified that he got covid. Outside Hospice agency let us know by accident about a week after getting infected. The whole place is a fraud! A co corker of mine also had their father in law in during Covid and dealt with pretty much the same. Goes to show money buys you freedom. Veterans nursing home had same occurrences as Belmont Manor, only difference they got in trouble and paid the price. Belmont Manor got away free. Wasnt allowed to see him through Covid at all. Wouldnt even allow to see him through a window , but once he passed there they asked if I wanted to come into see him/his body! I was blown away.
