Best layout in MA. Great mix of elevations. Just wish they had grass tee boxes on the driving range.

This is the biggest waste of money that I have ever seen from a golf course. The greens are shot, fairways burnt, and the staff is mediocre at best. With Shaker Hills right down the road, it is a much better option. Their course is in great shape and the staff is always welcoming and delightful. Having the range included with the tee time is a nice touch as well. Red Tail should not be rated #2 for public courses in MA.

I have played at least 10 rounds at Red Tail Golf Course in the last three or four years. My last round was in September 2020. I played on Saturday, April 24, 2021 and here is my experience. When I made my tee time I was fully aware that they had aerated the greens on April 19. The website was very clear by posting that. The last time I was there in September they had a restaurant, beverages and snacks. As everyone knows the golf course frowns upon you bringing a cooler of drinks and food even during Covid times. So of course I did not pack anything to bring to the golf course. Apparently the golf course is under new management. Apparently what that has meant is that the GPS systems have been taken out of the cart, there is no rakes anywhere on the course despite being a rake holder attached to the golf cart, and there are multiple areas of the golf course that has turf damage quite extensively. The biggest issue is that there are no food or drinks facilities open. Apparently they do not have a permit for the restaurant. They of course have not solve this problem by having anything to purchase except I guess water bottles behind the pro shop. There is no snacks, no energy, no food of any kind. There is also ZERO notification of any of these issues on their website but, they still charge top end green fees ($119.00) The pro shop staff was annoyed when we inquired about not letting the consumer know of these issues. The new management company may need to learn something about customer service and user experiences or people will stop playing and paying those prices because there is a multitude of nice courses for far less money and more amenities in the area. It is a shame. The golf course layout is one of the best in New England if not the East Coast. As a single digit handicap in my fifties now the course is a great challenge from any tee box. I will await to see GLOWING reviews before I return. What do you think a 100 cases of water and some free snack would cost compared to the cost of bad reviews?

Dont waste $138. Nice course but when you pay the kind of money they are charging youd expect more than a few mats as a driving range and impeccable conditions throughout. The restaurant is really good though
