5 Stars for Marci Shapiro for helping me in tough times with my utility bills last month. She is a wonderful person that goes above and beyond to assist the needy and the elderly in Arlington.

no return call from the director shah {disappointed}. the volunteer program {drivers} need to be fine tuned. recruit more volunteers. we have repeatedly been unable to secure a ride{doctor's appointments} despite contacting them 2 weeks in advance. this program/supervisor needs to be more efficient/accommodating for seniors. we all are paying exorbitant real estate taxes, but are reaping no benefits from this organization.

The Arlington Council On Aging is a dynamic place for those of us in our wonderful community who seek a place to belong. They offer fun and adventures which include movies, field trips, dances, yoga, exercise, painting, as well as classes on a multitude of fascinating topics. For those of us seeking direct, expert advice and/or need critical help, the Council On Aging's Social Services Department is superior. As a newcomer, the social workers will listen thoughtfully and thoroughly to you. They then will offer warm and clear answers to your questions, including direction and support with affordable housing, health care, disability needs, transportation, financial planning, help with accessing Social Security, the SNAP (food stamps) and much more. Above all, the Council On Aging maintains connections with multiple entities throughout the Boston area to help us find good legal advice, helpful home-care professionals, and spiritual support in times of joy and sorrow. Come visit and share a cup of coffee and say hello, if you wish. You shall be warmly welcomed. Remember to take a moment to enjoy the new renovations in the stunning historic building. The Arlington Council On Aging is where support and a new friendship can begin.
