    We have been very happy with Fresh Direct since we started using the delivery service in April 2020. Fresh Direct has a wide variety of products, although availability can sometimes be limited. The produce and meat we receive has been of good quality, and when some items have been damaged or wrong, Fresh Direct has provided refunds quickly. In addition, the drivers have always delivered within the delivery window and have been friendly and courteous. In our experience, we have been happy with the service.

    This was my first & last time ever using Fresh Direct. I am utterly disappointed with the service. On November 14, 2020 I placed an order for a prepared Thanksgiving meal to be delivered on Thursday November 26, 2020 between 6am - 9am. I provided my card information & signed up for text message alerts on my order. I immediately received a confirmation email with an attached link for " order status" stating that my order had been processed. From November 15 to November 25 I regularly checked my email to see if I received any new notifications. I received none. I also did not receive any text alerts of any kind. Now most companies send an email or text reminding you of your online order 24 hrs or 48 hrs prior the expected delivery. Fresh Direct did not do any of those things. The day before Thanksgiving, Nov 25, I checked the status of my order. The status said "expected delivery tomorrow". There was no indication or notification of any issues. And of course I checked my email. No notifications from Fresh Direct. Thanksgiving morning I get up at 6 am to begin the waiting game. At 6:10 am I check my order status & is unable to get information. I refreshed the web page & tried again. Still unable to get information. After exploring the Fresh Direct site for a minute I finally found some information. The site said that the status of my order had been cancelled. I never cancelled my order & I definitely didn't receive any notifications from Fresh Direct informing me of such actions. I immediately called the customer service number. The customer service rep confirmed that my order was cancelled & that Fresh Direct was having trouble with my banking information. I asked the rep if there truly were issues with my banking information why didn't Fresh Direct contact me? I informed the rep that I did not receive a single email or text notifying me of such issues. The rep informed me that there was nothing that could be done about my cancelled order as all delivery times have been filled. I can not express enough how livid I am with Fresh Direct. I immediately email a complaint to the Fresh Direct Help Service. Scolding them for not sending me any notifications or text messages regarding the issue. Fresh Direct responded back stating that they're sorry that my order had been cancelled & that they sent an email out on Nov 24. And suggested that I check my junk mail. First off I never received an email from Fresh Direct on Nov 24 or dates prior. There were no Fresh Direct emails in my junk mail, spam box or inbox. I marked the Fresh Direct email address as "priority" so any email received from them would go straight to my inbox at the top of the list. It was dead silence on Fresh Directs end until I sent my compliant about their actions. I contacted customer service for my card to inspect the activity of Fresh Direct. The customer service rep informed me that no transactions of any kind had occurred on the November 14. I asked the rep to double check for Fresh Direct & stated the amount. The rep stated that there were no attempts of a charge & no declines of a charge being made by Fresh Direct that day or any day after. How strange. I informed a friend of my strange discovery & she was not surprised. She informed me that certain businesses are purposefully over booking themselves with orders to guarantee that they meet their quota. When the companies have reached their capacity they drop the remaining orders under false pretenses. Similar to how certain airlines like to book seats. If this is true on Fresh Direct's part then they are deplorably unprofessional & their actions are down right unkind. I am incline to believe this theory because I can't logically explain their actions my order. Had Fresh Direct simply stated that they were no longer taking delivery orders I could've ordered from another business. And my family would be getting ready to eat a Thanksgiving meal. Being that it is Thanksgiving Day there are no businesses that will accept a last minute meal request. So our options today are fast food or left overs

    Haven't been able to get a delivery in 2 months so the delivery pass is a waste of money. Before that, before covid19 they quality was dropping They would deliver hours before the delivery window and would leave freezer items and things like fish on the porch. They also used to have the drivers texts but that all has been automated to the point of useless. Also items would often come open. Customer service used to be good though. Used to be is the key phrase there. The thing that makes me furious is the chefs table customers (the ones who spend over a certain amount) are still getting 2 deliveries a week when the people who pay for the delivery pass can't get any. So it isn't the lack of bandwidth, it's the tiered system. 2 stars because when delivery was still possible the produce was good.

2 stars because when delivery was still possible the produce was good.
